COVID-19 Testing

Please use this system to book a Covid-19 test at our Covid-19 Testing Centre, based in the Octagon Centre on campus in Sheffield. 


This test is available to all University of Sheffield students who are not showing any Covid-19 symptoms. If you develop symptoms of Covid-19, self-isolate, book an NHS test and inform the University


Do not book a test if you have had a positive Covid-19 test in the past 90 days. 


If you’re planning to travel, a negative test result will enable you to leave Sheffield with some reassurance for yourself and your loved ones. However, you should still consider self-isolating for 10 days when you get to your destination. If you wish, you can book a second test three days after your first.    


Whether you have two negative test results or one before leaving, there is still a risk of you having the virus. Continue to follow government guidance to minimise the risk of transmission wherever you may be.  


You should make plans to leave Sheffield within 24 hours of taking your test and receiving a negative result. If you need to travel by public transport, we advise that you book a refundable ticket wherever possible in case you need to self-isolate on the planned day of travel. 


If you are a taught student, you should schedule your test to take place after completing all of your face-to-face teaching this semester. 


If you are travelling outside of the UK, please note that this test will not provide any documentation needed for overseas travel. However, you are still welcome to book a test at our Covid-19 Testing Centre. 


Your personal data will be collected and processed for the purpose of booking a test at our Covid-19 Testing Centre.

Autumn Term Update

Library Learning Spaces for Students

There are over 300 bookable learning spaces located in the Information Commons and Western Bank Library. These include desks with and without PCs. Access is available in bookable slots from Monday 28 September 9:30am-4:30pm, Monday-Friday.

Information Commons Level 4 is our Connect4Learning Zone. We are encouraging all students who will be participating in seminars and other online learning activities whilst using the Library to take advantage of this dedicated zone.

If you book a space on Level 4, but you are not participating in online learning activities, please be aware this zone may be noisier than other areas in the Library.

General Study Spaces for Students

There are over 100 bookable desks with PCs located in Bartolome House ALG04, Broad Lane F110, Firth Court B56, Geography Building B4, Hadfield Building E61, and the Hicks Building G25 & G29. Access is available in bookable slots from Monday 28 September 9:30am-4:30pm, Monday-Friday.

 

Bookable Space on Campus for Staff - Wellbeing 

There are 52 bookable spaces located on Floors 2 and 4 of 3 Solly Street (Velocity Building). These include desks with and without PCs.  Floor 4 is an open plan office and is set up for 26 workspaces.  Floor 2 is set up for 23 workspaces and 3 private single occupancy offices. Access is available in bookable slots from Monday 28 September 9:00am - 5:00pm, Monday-Friday.
